The claims refer to the remaining grants which should be paid for the 2008/2009 sowing in the total amount of HRK 205 million.
After the meeting managers of ten banks, Cobankovic said bankers had agreed to make a deal on these transactions and that further agreements would be specified at the start of the next week.
According to the minister, the banks must not agree among themselves about conditions for taking over farmers' claims as this would be the matter of agreements between farmers and banks they choose.
According to Cobankovic, all of this aims at helping farmers to get money as soon as possible.
Asked to comment on protesting farmers' demand to hold talks with Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Cobankovic said he could not speak on her behalf and that it was on Kosor to decide on the matter.
Dozens of tractors of disgruntled farmers have taken to the roads in several areas in eastern Croatia. Protesters insist on the full payment of grants.
