The establishment of the inter-ministerial task force paves the way for the work in this difficult field, Economy Minister Djuro Popijac said at the meeting of the cabinet of Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor.
The minister said that difficult questions such as pension insurance, savings, superannuation and tax regulations would be on the agenda of the task force.
The Kosor cabinet decided today to earmark HRK 46.6 million, deposited with the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, for efforts to finance port infrastructure and fisheries.
The government decided on the establishment of a single communication network linking all state agencies for reasons of economy, and entrusted the Financial Agency (FINA) with this task. For instance, electronic mail communication will be performed via their own network rather than via commercial operators and their hubs in Frankfurt and Vienna.
In the initial stage this plan will make savings of HRK 15 million and with the beginning of operation of a single network savings will come to HRK 35 million in telephone and Internet services.
The government sent to parliament amendments to the legislation on the right to have access to information, defining more precisely what information is and obligations of state agencies to give information.
Administration Minister Davorin Mlakar said the government could not accept a proposal to establish an information commissioner as this office would make additional costs in a moment when the government was carrying out a bailout plan.
