Autor: mses
ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Croatia's goods export in the first four months of 2010 amounted to HRK 19.3 billion, 2.9 percent up from the same period of last year, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics last Monday.

Imports in the first four months totalled HRK 33.4 billion, 10.7 percent down from the comparable period of 2009.

The foreign trade deficit thus amounted to HRK 14.05 billion, 24.4 percent down from the same period of last year.

The export-import ratio was 57.9 percent.

When expressed in euros, exports in the first four months amounted to EUR 2.6 billion, up 4.8 percent from the same period of last year.

Imports amounted to EUR 4.6 billion, down 9 percent.

The foreign trade deficit went down by 22.9 percent to EUR 1.9 billion.

The growth in exports was mostly the result of an increase in deliveries to foreign countries from some branches of the manufacturing industry, which as a whole saw an increase in exports of 6.5 percent to EUR 2.4 billion.
