ZAGREB, 18 Feb (Hina) - Table tennis player Anđela Mužinić Vincetić and track and field athlete Deni Černi have been named Croatia’s top parasport athletes for 2024 by the Croatian Paralympic Committee’s (HPO) at an annual awards ceremony in Zagreb.

The 28th edition of the event, marking Croatian Parasport Day, recognised outstanding para-athletes, coaches, and officials across ten categories.

The highlight of 2024 was the Paris Paralympic Games, where Croatian para-athletes secured four medals: Mužinić Vincetić claimed gold in para-table tennis, Černi won silver in shot put, while swimmer Dino Sinovčić and para-athlete Luka Baković each took bronze.

Record-breaking year for Croatian parasport

The Croatian parasport community celebrated an exceptional year, with national athletes securing 207 medals across 76 international competitions, including 73 golds, 72 silvers, and 62 bronzes.

"Parasport athletes inspire us all. Their dedication proves that no obstacle is insurmountable. True victories lie not only in medals but in pushing limits and proving that perseverance knows no bounds," said HPO President Ratko Kovačić.
