"Given the proximity of the competition venue in Austria and the different quotas that Croatia has in comparison to the World Cup, along with the four athletes from our A national team who regularly compete in this season's World Cup – Zrinka Ljutić, Filip Zubčić, Samuel Kolega and Istok Rodeš – the Croatian Ski Federation will provide the opportunity for the following young skiers to compete: Dora Ljutić, Tvrtko Ljutić, William Petanjek and Rok Begović, in line with the Croatian Ski Federation’s strategy of investing in youth. Additionally, former national team member Matej Vidović, who has been competing in Nor-Am races in recent seasons, as he lives, trains, and works in the USA, will also compete. He won’t need to participate in qualifications in Saalbach," the Croatian HSS federation stated.
The Croatian skiers will compete exclusively in the giant slalom and slalom events, which are scheduled for next week.
Dora Ljutić will compete in the giant slalom qualification race on 12 February and, if successful, will have the opportunity to join her sister Zrinka in the race scheduled for 13 February.
Tvrtko Ljutić, William Petanjek and Rok Begović will compete in the giant slalom qualifications on 13 February, with the chance to join Filip Zubčić in the race on 14 February.
Zrinka Ljutić will be the only Croatian representative in the women's slalom on 15 February, while in the men's slalom on the final day of the World Championships, 16 February, Zubčić, Rodeš, Kolega and Vidović will take part on behalf of Croatia's team.
