A third of those interviewed, or 33.2 percent, do their shopping in shopping malls several times a month, 26.2 percent do so several times a week, 11.9 percent buy there every day and 5.6 percent only at weekends.
Slightly over a fifth of respondents, or 21.3 percent, do their shopping in shopping malls once a moth or less frequently, while 1.8 percent never visit shopping malls.
Some 60.7 percent buy food and household necessities, 33.1 percent buy clothes and footwear, and 6 percent buy technical products.
Asked about Christmas shopping, 21.7 percent of respondents said they would not be doing any Christmas shopping this year, 34.8 percent said they would spend between 200 and 500 kuna (between 27 and 67 euros) on Christmas presents, and 23 percent would spend up to 200 kuna (27 euros).
Some 18.4 percent of respondents said they would set aside between 500 and 1,000 kuna (between 67 and 135 euros) for Christmas gifts this year, and only 2.2 percent said they would spend more than 1,000 kuna.
The survey was conducted in September on a nationally representative sample of people aged 16 and above.
