In cooperation with the European Film Academy, short films by European directors nominated for the prestigious Academy Award will be screened, including last year's winner, the Dutch-Syrian film "Nine Days - From My Window in Aleppo" by Thomas Vroege, Floor van der Muelen and Issa Touma.
There will also be a retrospective of films by award-winning Slovenian director Spela Cadez, including her new one, Nighthawk, which won the Grand Prix at this year's Animafest in Zagreb.
The festival will be accompanied by the Sound & Vision programme, which combines film screening and live music. This year the British post-rock band Stems will provide musical accompaniment to films by Georges Melies and will take the audience on a space voyage with a video shot with NASA's Hubble telescope.
Veliki Tabor Castle is located in Desinic, about 65 kilometres northwest of Zagreb.
