Visitors can see the show free of charge until Sunday May 14. The foreign exhibitors come from Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Germany, the USA, Switzerland and the Netherlands. They and their Croatian colleagues will exhibit by the park's lake, exhibiting flowers, cacti, substrates and seeds, machinery, and gardening equipment, among other things.
Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic said Floraart was most definitely the biggest and the most beautiful flower exhibition in this part of Europe.
Visitors can see dry, silk and paper flowers, flower equipment, paintings, collages and scarves with floral themes. They can also taste healthy food and medicinal herb products.
Floraart also features daily entertainment, including plays, story reading and face painting for children, as well as lectures.
Floraart has become part of Zagreb's cultural history, said Igor Toljan, head of the Zrinjevac company, which organised the event. Zrinjevac designs, arranges and maintains public and other green areas in the City of Zagreb.
