Minister says Croatia's tourism not affected by wordwide developments

Author: Marija Šestan
ZAGREB, Nov 25 (Hina) - The political and security situation in Europe and elsewhere in the world, including the recent terrorist attacks and the ongoing migrant crisis, have not yet affected Croatia's tourist trade, and we are following all the information in order to be prepared for all scenarios, Minister Darko Lorencin said in Zagreb on Wednesday.
Preparations for Christmas and New Year holidays are going as planned, he said after the launch of a new tourist check-in and check-out information system -- eVisitor.

Asked to comment on the State Department's latest alert for U.S. citizens about possible risks of travel due to increased terrorist threats, Lorencin said that in the past years there had already been queries from U.S tour operators but Croatian authorities reassured them.

"Croatia can be calm but also on alert," the minister said.

The tourist trade results in September and October show that the migrant crisis had made no negative impact on this sector in Croatia, he added.
