Thus, the temperatures rose above the 30-year-average by between 1.1 Celsius degrees in the town of Komiza on the southern island of Vis and 2.5 degrees in the town of Gospic in the mountainous region of Lika.
Thus, 2014 was the fifth consecutive year with temperature deviations from the average, with some areas experiencing moderately warmer and some extremely warmer weathers.
The highest departures from the average data were registered in Gospic, one centigrade degree higher in 2010 than the average, 1.6 centigrade higher temperature on 2013, and an an increase of 2.5 centigrade degrees in 2014.

When it come to precipitation, last year was also with record rainfall and snowfall amounts. For instance, the biggest eastern city of Osijek experienced 127% of the 30-year precipitation average and the southern island of Hvar was 'washed' by 175% of the 30-year average, receiving a total of 1275 mm of rain throughout 2014.
The trend of increasing temperature in the 20th century was also noticed in Croatia, with rises by between 0.02 and 0.07 Celsius degree over a 10-year-period observed by weather measurement stations in the country.
