ZAGREB, Jan 9
(Hina) - In an explanation of its decision to approve
the extradition of Yugoslav-era intelligence chief Josip Perkovic to
Germany, the Zagreb County Court said on Thursday it had dismissed the
main argument by the defence that the statute of limitations had
expired in this case because in respect of European Arrest Warrants
(EAW) the existence of the statute of limitations under domestic law
need not be verified for offences listed in the EAW catalogue, which
includes the murder of Croatian dissident Stjepan Djurekovic in
Germany in 1983.
