The five-stage race will be covered live daily by the HRT national broadcaster and several foreign TV channels such as Eurosport, which broadcasts its programmes in more than 54 countries.
The race is taking place under the auspices of the Croatian government and is being sponsored by the ministries of tourism and environmental protection and the Croatian Tourism Board (HTZ). It will finish in Zagreb on April 26.
The event's potential has been recognised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), which has classified it in the first category, meaning that it is only a step behind the most important cycling races and grand tour races such as Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana.
