The forum brought together more than 300 leading hotel companies from Croatia and abroad and many investment experts and consultants who will discuss successful models of investment in the hotel industry, how best to adjust to new trends, and what business models to pursue to spur growth and investment.
Lorencin said that investment in Croatia's tourism and hotel trade had been increasing over the last two years and that the trend was expected to continue this year too. "This year these investments will reach nearly 500 million euros, or almost 100 million euros more than last year," he said, citing a very large share of tourism in the country's GDP.
The minister said he believed that large projects such as Kupari and Brijuni would attract the attention of leading global investors who are interested in Croatia.
