Court say public debate on constitutional changes inadmissibly short

ZAGREB, Nov 26 (Hina) - The Constitutional Court said on Tuesday it would inform parliament that it had set an inadmissibly short period of time for a public debate on constitutional changes, and that adopting regulations under envisaged rules and democratic procedural standards was a fundamental requirement of the rule of law.

Constitutional Court judges unanimously adopted a report on the public debate on constitutional changes, saying the inadmissibly short time for the debate could not be justified either with the claim that it would be held also after parliament drew up the changes.
