The prime minister's decision of February 14 has slashed aid for Slavonia by ten per cent, the strongest opposition party said in a statement.
The decision equates the City of Zagreb, with a EUR 17,500 GDP per capita, with Vukovar-Srijem, Pozega-Slavonia and Brod-Posavina counties, where GDP is slightly over EUR 5,000 per capita, the HDZ said.
Last year Croatia was divided into two statistical regions - Continental and Adriatic - whereas in 2007 it was divided into three - Pannonian, Northwestern and Adriatic.
The HDZ said a smart government would make changes in such a way that either no one lost or, if someone had to lose, it should be those that were more developed.
