Merino fleece prices were mixed, with 19 micron up to 1.0 percent dearer and 20/21/22m slightly cheaper. The 23m category was 0.5 percent dearer, 24/26m 0.5 percent cheaper and 25m slightly dearer, WI said. "Heavy low-priced sales from two of the main Continental sources (of supply) have helped to prevent buying in the UK," one broker said. The recent strength of sterling has removed the opportunity to increase quotations in line with the cost of imported wool for blending while pushing up the price of UK exports, another added.
