The action pressured the October contract to support seen at 11.60, but trade interest at the lows stymied losses. Prices remained in their recent trading range between 11.60 and 11.94 basis October. Players are still looking for a move below 11.60 to trigger speculative liquidation or a jump through 11.94 to encourage speculators to carry the contract over the key 12.00 to 12.05 level. October closed 0.15 cent a lb weaker to 11.66, having ranged from 11.85 to 11.60. Second-position March settled off 0.06 to 11.35, while the deferred contracts finished 0.09 to 0.05 weaker. LCE white sugar futures also closed lower, with the October contract settling at the day's lows of $348.80 per tonne, down $1.00.
