Prices drifted off the highs on local selling, and the market remained in a narrow range between support pegged at 11.50 and resistance seen at 11.65 basis the October contract, for the remainder of the afternoon. "It was like a morgue," one trader said, noting a lack of buying interest once the locals pressured the market off the highs. While prices could climb Tuesday as the market continues to consolidate after last week's selloff, traders see lower near-term prices. The market today failed to fill a gap in October between Friday's high of 11.49, and today's low of 11.53. "We may try and take it out tomorrow but if it comes in better, (the market) could work its way up," a trader said. The October contract rose 0.11 cent a lb on the day to 11.59, after ranging from 11.65 to 11.53. March closed up 0.09 to 11.35, while the remaining months finished 0.12 to 0.07 firmer.
