The underlying sentiment of most participants remained bearish, with the result that mill buyers felt no urgency in the covering of their requirements for the coming months. Their selective buying policy has meant that only the cheapest offers in circulation - frequently those of various African origins - have generated any real interest. The weather in Greece and Spain is being closely monitored as harvest time aproaches, but no major untoward developments have yet emerged to shake the bearish consensus, traders said. 221016 MET sep 97
