July is expected to find support at 72.00 cents and then 70.00 cents, before regaining upward momentum. Dealers pegged resistance at 74.10 cents for the contract. Rain overnight in Texas is expected to benefit a crop that is already developing smoothly, analysts said. The rain is forecast to continue through the weekend. July cotton settled 0.73 cent lower at 72.37 cents, traded 73.20 to 73.16 cents. New-crop December went out 0.57 cent lower at 75.05 cents. An estimated 14,000 lots changed hands versus Thursday's official 8,771 lots. 090952 MET jun 97
