Since the activity at the start of the week and the fund-inspired sell-off, interest has dwindled considerably. "We are seeing some resistance on copper, aluminium amd zinc...but nobody wants to play at the moment," one trader said. Copper stocks fell by 1,775 tonnes, largely due to outflows from Hamburg again, but the market paid little heed. Prices were trading at $2,309, up just $2. Resistance is seen from $2,310 up to $2,320. Aluminium stocks fell by 2,450 tonnes, but again there was little impact on the market which is slack ahead of IPAI data on February inventories due later today - expected to show an increase. Three months traded recently $2 higher at $1,594, with selling expected around $1,600. Zinc was unchanged at $1,266 a tonne, and continued to find selling in the mid-$1,260s. Lead and tin were also unchanged at $651 and $5,760 a tonne respectively. Nickel perked up above the $7,500 level, despite a 144-tonne increase. Prices were $30 higher at $7,520.
