Merino fleece of 19/20 microns was slightly dearer, 21/26m 1.5 percent cheaper, 22m one percent cheaper, 23/25m 2.5 percent cheaper and 24m three percent cheaper while merino skirtings were generally slightly cheaper. In crossbreds, 27m was slightly cheaper, 28/29m 0.5 percent dearer and 30/31m slightly dearer. In cardings, lambs were one percent cheaper, locks were up to two percent cheaper, with 20m and coarser light carbonising locks up to seven percent cheaper, and crutchings were up to five percent cheaper. WI said Japanese interests were principal operators with support from Western Europe and most sectors of the trade. Of the 29,684 bales offered, 24.9 percent were passed in.
