Merino fleece was mostly cheaper, with 19/21/22/24 microns slightly cheaper and 20/23/25 microns unchanged. Crossbreds were mixed, with 27/28m unchanged, 29m slightly cheaper and 30/31m up to two percent dearer. WI said there was good general trade competition. Of the 12,233 bales offered, 19.8 percent were passed in. WI said sales will continue next week in Sydney and Geelong, with about 63,100 bales on offer. Early reports from Fremantle where 14,639 bales were on offer said merino fleece was mostly cheaper with 21m two percent cheaper and 23/24m one percent cheaper. _________________________________________________________________ Bradford - cijene vune - 08. siječnja 1998. cijene u penijima/kg _________________________________________________________________ MERINO CROSSBRED 70s SUPER 463 58s SUPER 346 66s SUPER 427 58s BLENDED 331 64s SUPER 380 56s SUPER 333 64s BLENDED 376 54s CARDED 316 60s SUPER 365 50s CARDED 290 60s BLENDED 357 58s ENGLISH 250 56s ENGLISH 241 50s ENGLISH 237 Bradford wool lower following overseas markets LONDON, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Values at Thursday's Bradford wool sale fell as much as 16 pence per kilo in line with recent falls at Australian wool sales, traders said. Scottish wool sold at erratic levels at auction this week in Bradford, but the general assessment for topmakers was that there was little change in their costs. Actual business was very quiet, with any new orders available only on a hand-to-mouth basis and at increasingly competitive prices. The call for deliveries was reasonable, though not as good as it had been a couple of months ago. The Asian currency situation was unhelpful, and was undermining confidence on the demand side of the world wool equation. 091215 MET jan 98
