The 12-month project was launched before the January 22 referendum on Croatia's EU accession. Its aim was to support the government and the EU Delegation in raising the level of understanding and information among Croatia's citizens and business community with regard to issues related to EU accession, its importance and EU funds.
Another aim was to raise awareness of the need to join the Union, highlight the importance of taking part in the referendum and support the accession, thus contributing to the accomplishment of one of Croatia's main strategic goals.
The project beneficiaries were Croatian citizens and entrepreneurs, local governments and non-governmental organisations. It focused on worker and student mobility, customs duties and taxes, retaining the Croatian identity and products, and financing from EU funds.
As part of the project, Hina uploaded about 20 documents on its website, including the Accession Treaty, and released 820 news items and 160 notices.
The closing conference of the project was held in late November.
