(Hina) - Former Croatian president Stjepan Mesic
expressed satisfaction with the ruling handed down by the Appeals
Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former
Yugoslavia (ICTY) in the case of Croatian Generals Ante Gotovina and
Mladen Markac, adding that he was confident that the ruling would
prove that the ICTY was acting in accordance with legal standards and
was not following political criteria as people in Croatia had claimed
on more than one occasion, read a statement signed by mesic's advisor
Tomislav Jakic.
