Unofficially, the indictment was issued against Lieutenant General Mladen Kruljac, former commander of the Croatian ground forces, and five other men for involvement in the fraudulent sale of building plots in the eastern Croatian municipality of Sibinj whereby they allegedly defrauded the municipal and state budget of 17 million kuna.
Kruljac was sent into retirement in the summer of 2010 after the scandal broke. At the start of the investigation, the six suspects were held in custody but were later released.
