ZAGREB, Dec 30 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign and Deputy Prime Minister
Mate Granic received today foreign diplomats acreddited in Croatia,
led by doyen of the diplomatic corps, the Vatican's Ambassador
Msgr. Guilio Einaudi.
Minister Granic informed his guests about Croatian views on the
last round of peace negotiations in Geneva and Brussels. According
to Minister Granic, Croatia accepted the European Union peace
initiative, and insisted on solving all problems in a peaceful way
and through negotiations.
Continued B-H Army combat operations in central Bosnia jeopardize
peace efforts of Croatia and the international community, said
Minister Granic, asking diplomats to use their influence with the
Muslim side in order to stop the offensive and prevent a tragedy.
Minister Granic also referred to the humanitarian efforts made by
the Croatian Government and presented a new ambassador of the
Croatin Foreign Ministry in charge of humanitarian issues, Dr.
Slobodan Lang. Ambassador Lang appealed to diplomats to support
humanitarian actions for Nova Bila and all other hospitals in war
zones, as well as evacuation of the wounded from those hospitals.
