ZAGREB, Dec 29 (Hina) - The deputy chairman of the Croatian
Parliament's foreign policy committee, Bozidar Petrac, talked to
former Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Zagreb airport on
Wednesday. Mr Sharif is travelling to Sarajevo later in the day.
Mr Petrac asked Mr Sharif to use his influence on Bosnian Moslem
authorities in Sarajevo so as to put a stop to the Moslem-Croat
conflict and create conditions for the political settlement of the
crisis.
Mr Sharif said the aim of his visit was to provide fresh impetus
for the peaceful resolution of the crisis in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Mr Petrac pointed out that Croatia supported all peace
initiatives, underlying the importance of cessation of hostilities
as a precondition for political talks between the Bosnian Moslems
and Croats.
The Bosnian ambassador to Croatia, Mrs Bisera Turkovic, was also
present at the talks.
