ZAGREB, Dec 28 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign and Deputy Prime Minister
Mate Granic said at today's session of Parliamentary Committee for
Foreign Policy that the Croatian policy towards UNPAs is based on
the UN Security Council Resolution 871. Referring to the situation
in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Minister Granic said Muslims requested a
large passage out to the sea and not an access in order to make
reaching the agreement impossible and to solve the issue of central
Bosnia by military force. Dealing with continuation of Muslim
offensive, Granic said that Croatia's orientation is the cessation
of conflict.
Minister Granic clarified that one of the proposed solutions for
an exchange of territories was 10 km on the Prevlaka peninsula for
Neum and the hinterland of Dubrovnik, stressing that the end of war
remains the most important prerequisite for any variant of
exchange. Granic said that Croatia will not allow any cutting
through its territory.
According to his judgment, actual attitudes of Slovenian officials
do not implicate the short term agreement about the Bay of Piran.
