DUBROVNIK, Dec 27 (Hina) - In 1993 4,446 displaced persons of the
total number of 11,200 persons situated in hotels and private
houses in the Dubrovnik area returned to their homes. This was said
at the meeting of the Coordinating Committee for Preparation and
Realization of Return of Displaced Persons in Dubrovnik on Monday.
It was also said that 47 villages and settlements in the Dubrovnik
area were proclaimed safe for return in 1993.
About 6,700 displaced persons are still accommodated in the
Dubrovnik area but their number is expected to decrease at the
beginning of January when status of the displaced person will be
suspended for those with less damaged houses.
