ZAGREB, Dec 24 (Hina) - President of the Croatian Republic of
Herzeg-Bosnia Mate Boban on Friday forwarded letters to UN
Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali and Chairman of the
European Union Ministerial Council Willy Claes, informing them that
a Moslem offensive in central Bosnia was aimed at making the region
ethnically cleansed of Croats.
Mr Boban asked Messrs. Ghali and Claes to use their influence on
the supreme commander of the Moslem-led Bosnian Army, President
Alija Izetbegovic, to cease the combat operations in central
Bosnia. Mr Boban pointed out that a Christmas truce for Bosnia-
Herzegovina was signed in Brussels on 22 December.
Unless the Moslem forces stop the offensive, "we are forced to use
all available means for self-defence," said Mr Boban, specifying
that over 100 civilians had been killed and some 200 severely
wounded in the attacks.
