PROZOR, Dec 23 (Hina) - One person was killed, one was seriously
wounded and three slightly as Moslem forces attacked a humanitarian
convoy, travelling from Nova Bila back to Croatia, at Bistrica near
Uskoplje (Gornji Vakuf) in central Bosnia on Wednesday afternoon,
said medical authorities at a war hospital in Rama (northern
Herzegovina).
Convoy driver Ante Vlajic of Zagreb was killed, driver Jerko Jovic
of Imotski was seriously wounded and flown to a Split hospital,
while nurse Branka Herzeg of Novi Travnik, driver Milan Nenadic of
Zagreb and Ivo Nikolic of Imotski sustained minor injuries.
The lives of the wounded are not in danger. They confirmed
UNPROFOR peace keepers came to their rescue as they saw the driver
killed.
Following the attack, all convoy drivers were taken in UNPROFOR
personnel carriers to territory controlled by Croatian Defence
Council (HVO) forces. A number of the convoy trucks remained on
Moslem-held territory.
