ZAGREB, Dec 20 (Hina) - The Presidential Council for Defence and
National Security held a meeting on Monday under the chairmanship
of President Franjo Tudjman, said the Presidential Office in a
statement.
The meeting commended the Government for the preparation and
implementation of the economic stabilization programme, which
registered positive results in bringing down the inflation to less
than one percent this month as well as in the increase of personal
incomes to an average DM 300. The Council asked the Government to
work out a denationalization programme in keeping with positive
experiences from other European countries.
The Council strongly condemned the crime committed over Croatian
workers in Algeria and warned about a danger of Moslem
fundamentalism and its proponents even among Bosnian Moslems. In
this context, the Council empowered relevant ministries to take
necessary measures, and suggested that Croatian authorities
continue supporting those Moslems in favour of cooperation and
settlement of the crisis in the region.
