OSIJEK, Dec 1 (Hina) - The Croatian side has offered another initiative,
said Branimir Glavas, coordinator of the Commission for UNPROFOR
operation in Sector East, at a meeting on Wednesday with Philip Corwin,
UNPROFOR's civil affairs coordinator in Sector East. The initiative
includes urgent talks about pensions for Croatian citizens in the
occupied territories.
Mr Corwin said the Serb side was not ready to negotiate before
elections, but stressed he believed that they were willing to talk about
communications, transport and energy. Mr Corwin noted that the Serb side
had always conditioned the talks with the pull-out of Croatian Army
troops from Sector East.
Mr Glavas reiterated a proposal for establishing a bus service between
Osijek and Beli Manastir. He pointed out that the tension should ease so
that all Croatian citizens could come to Osijek when they wished.
