ZADAR, Nov 26 (Hina) - Following Friday's meeting with head of the Knin-
based EC Monitor Mission Paul Ortholn, the head of Zadar County and
Government Civil Affairs Coordinator in Sector South, Sime Prtenjaca,
told HINA that he would not allow EC monitors perform their duty in
Zadar without Croatian supervision because of their "inefficiency" and
"doubts in their honourable intentions."
"They seek information on the Zadar economy, the workforce in certain
companies, sometimes threatening and insulting," said Mr Prtenjaca,
stressing that he had told that to Mr Ortholn, who called it obstruction
of the Mission's work.
Mr Ortholn said that all misunderstandings should be sorted out, and
that he would do all he could that monitors did not engage in work
outside their mandate.
Today's talks centred on the situation in the Zadar area.
