NEW YORK, Nov 16 (Hina) - The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of
Croatia, Mate Granic, met with the president of the UN Security Council,
Ambassador of Cape Verde Luis Jesus, thus opening another round of
consultations on solving the crisis in the former Yugoslavia, stated the
Croatian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
During the talks, Minister Granic delivered a letter in which Croatia
requested the UN Security Council to take necessary steps to urgently
restore Croatian authority in the so-called pink zones.
The swift and complete restoration of Croatian authority in the so-called
pink zones should be regarded as the first step in the overall
implementation of the peace plan in Croatia, said the letter.
The Croatian minister also talked to ambassadors of other member states of
the UN Security Council - New Zealand, France, Hungary, Spain, Argentina,
China and Russia.
