ZAGREB, Nov 13 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign and Deputy Prime Minister Mate
Granic returned Saturday evening to Zagreb from his two-day visit to
Sarajevo. Minister Granic met with Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic
in Sarajevo, in the presence of Turkish Foreign Minister Hikmet Cetin.
The Croatian Minister said that the talks were of great importance for
halting the conflict between Croats and Muslims in Bosnia-Herzegovina and
that the talks must be resumed as soon as possible. The talks focused on
the political, military and humanitarian situation, said Minister Granic.
Turkish diplomats should also be present at the future talks, said Granic.
"We want our policy towards Bosnia-Herzegovina to be credible and Turkey,
as a witness, is of the great help," said the Croatian Minister.
If the recently agreed principles, in particular principles on territorial
demarcation and arrangement of the political life, are not respected, it is
not easy to organize humanitarian help and to stop the conflicts," said
Minister Granic.
The Croatian Foreign Minister also met with representatives of Croats and
the Catholic Church in Sarajevo during his visit. They discussed the
position of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) in Sarajevo.
