ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK puts on the front-page the
headline "Railway Workers Still On Strike" for a report on the
Central Union strike committee press conference.
"If one thousand workers are on strike, no one can say that
they have been manipulated by three men", one delegate of the
International Transport Federation (ITF) observing mission says. He
asks for a dialogue between the Croatian Government and the Union
officials.
Commenting on Borislav Mikelic's statement after the signing
the Economic Agreement between the Croatian Government and Serb
representatives from UNPAs, the daily's journalist A. Milosevic
says the Knin Serbs impudently require some extra conditions, which
have not been mentioned in the signed agreement. They ask that
their paramilitaries should control entry points to the Zagreb-
Lipovac highway, while the Croatian Army should withdraw from
Pakrac.
The paper also carries a letter of 27 Croat writers who demand
resignation of the Croatian PEN Center Executive Committee,
particularly its president, Slobodan Prosperov Novak, accusing the
Committee of "libel designed to undermine the sovereignty of the
Republic of Croatia and tarnish its reputation."
In today's VECERNJI LIST M. Jajcinovic writes that Moslems
and Croats can agree that no part of Bosnia-Herzegovina should be
integrated with Serbia. But, they cannot agree how the Federation
could come into being. They would not probably agree on this
question as long as some (Bosnian) Moslems believe that by
realization of the Federation they could be exposed to
assimilation.
In an interview with the daily Dr. Ivic Pasalic, an aide to
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on domestic affairs, says that
Serbian President Milosevic has no choice but to recognize Croatia.
He says the latest talks and negotiations at the highest level show
that the international community can be expected to undertake more
decisive action.
