SARAJEVO, Dec 8 (Hina) - Front lines remained stable in western
Bosnia in the past 24 hours, although Bosnian Serbs were on the
offensive, the UN in Sarajevo said today.
The Bihac villages of Vedro Poljue, Klokot and Izacic, as well
as Velika Kladusa, came under heavy fire.
Serbs were strengthening their positions in the safe zone
south of Bihac.
Serbs were shelling Bihac from Mt Pljesivica (in occupied
Croatia), according to Sarajevo radio.
The shelling went on all night, and the Serb infantry
attempted advances on Bosanska Krupa and Velika Kladusa this
morning, the radio said.
Civilians and peace-keepers in Bihac were in the same boat, UN
spokesman in Sarajevo Jan-Dirk Von Merveldt said today.
He warned that if Bangladeshi troops were left without
supplies, they wouldn't be able to protect the Bihac hospital for
much longer.
