ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) - "UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR) is ready to
open the Zagreb-Belgrade Highway for all traffic through UN
Protected Area Sector West in line with the Dec 2 Economic
Agreement," a spokesman for UNPROFOR in Zagreb, Paul Risley, said
today.
"UNPROFOR and UN Civil Police are preparing themselves to
ensure the safe opening of the Highway immediately if the two
parties would like this," spokesman Risley told a press conference
in the Zagreb UNPROFOR headquarters.
Commenting on the situation in UNPAs of Croatia Risley said
UNPROFOR was concerned with the information that Croatia's Serbs
had repaired the Udbina Air Base.
We stressed that since the NATO air strike on the air base on
21 November no aircraft had taken off from there to participate in
the attacks during the clashes around and in the Bihac pocket, he
said.
He added that UNPROFOR had warned Serbs that NATO would
respond in case of violations of the no fly zone over Bosnia.
