SIBENIK, Nov 8 (Hina) - Croatian Minister for Reconstruction and
Development Jure Radic today met Sibenik County officials to
discuss projects of the reconstruction and development of Sibenik
County and entire Croatia.
The talks particularly focused on linking the Sibenik and
Zadar water supply systems.
Radic said Croatia was planning to build apartments for war
victims, which would stimulate the economy and create 100,000 new
jobs.
Radic emphasized that Croatia was facing a period of
investment which would lead to the reduction of unemployment and
eventually the shortage of labour force. He noted that in this
respect all basic preconditions were met - inflation had been
curbed, the country had no external debt after two years of war and
would only apply for international loans for profitable projects.
The talks also discussed extensive material damage Sibenik
County suffered during the war. Industrial production was halved
and the number of the unemployed was high.
