MOSTAR, Nov 5, (Hina/HABENA) - The Mostar European Union
Administration has released a statement on a visit by its
Administrator Hans Koschnik to Sarajevo on November 3 and 4.
During the visit Koschnik met Bosnian president Alija
Izetbegovic, Federation of BiH parliament speaker Mariofil Ljubic,
Bosnian prime minister Haris Silajdzic, Cardinal Vinko Puljic and
the head of Bosnian friars Petar Andelovic.
While in Sarajevo Koschnik also spoke with British UN
Lieutenant-General Sir Michael Rose, UN chief of civil affairs,
Victor Andreev and the UN special coordinator for the
reconstruction of Sarajevo, William Eagleton.
Koschnik discussed the problems regarding the Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina. Also discussed were the possibilities of
establishing a federal department to run railways in Bosnia and the
reconstruction of two railway bridges in the wider Mostar area.
The difficulties that refugees faced, were also discussed and
the problems of getting their pensions paid to them which they had
earnt through employment in Europe. Koschnik was hopeful that these
pensions would start being paid by the end of the year, according
to the statement carried by HABENA.
