BOSNIAN ARMY ADVANCES TOWARDS TRNOVO

SARAJEVO, Nov 4 (Hina) - Bosnian Army First Corps units manged to gain over the control of four square kilometers of territory of Mt Igman and Mt Treskavica in the last two days. They advanced towards Trnovo, a town 30km from Sarajevo on the road towards eastern Bosnia. UN Sarajevo spokesman, Tim Spicer, said that the Bosnian Army was completely controlling the Gaj plateau at Treskavica and was taking up positions from where they could attack Trnovo. Trnovo is still not directly jeopardized, he said. The Bosnian Army has almost stopped the traffic on the Lukavica-Trnovo road and only UN vehicles are allowed to pass. Lukavica is the most important Serb fortress in the Sarajevo area. UN military observers confirmed that mortar fire had been opened yesterday at civilian targets in the Sarajevo's suburb of Hrasnica from the Serb positions. UN peace-keepers lodged a protest with Pale because of the attack but took no action. Spicer said that UN observers had not yet identified the weapons used in the attack and their location. Hrasnica is within the Sarajevo protected zone. (hina) jas ks 041538 MET nov 94
