BOSNIAN ARMY CONTINUES OFFENSIVES ON TWO FRONTS

ZAGREB, Nov 3 (Hina) - The Bosnian government army continued its offensives around Bihac in the west and in an area east of the Mount Igman demilitarized zone, the UN said today. UN spokesman Paul Risley told reporters at UN headquarters in Zagreb that the heaviest fighting in the last 24 hours had been reported from around Bosanska Krupa, northeast of Bihac. UNPROFOR's assessment was that Bosnian army troops would rather wait for Serb forces to surrender or withdraw from the town than try and take it in a direct attack. Rebel Serbs positioned in UNPA North in Croatia continued shelling Velika Kladusa in support of Bosnian Serb forces. The Bosnian army advanced southeast of Bihac towards Kulen Vakuf, a town on the border between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia's UNPA North. Risley said a Croat Defence Council (HVO) unit joined the Bosnian army on the right bank of the Una River. He added that Croatian Serbs were building up troops in UNPA North. Speaking of the situation in the Kupres area, Risley estimated HVO troops could enter the town. He believed the Bosnian army would now direct its forces towards Donji Vakuf. South of Sarajevo and Mount Igman, the Bosnian army took control of several villages and the Trnovo road, a key supply line for the Serbs. Risley said Trnovo town was most probably the ultimate goal of this offensive. Risley said that Serb forces fired 11 grenades inside the heavy weapons exclusion zone around the eastern Moslem-held town of Gorazde. The Serbs also fired four grenades on British UN peace- keepers.
