SPLIT, Nov 3 (Hina) - The Chief Croatian government negotiator,
Hrvoje Sarinic, said today upon return from occupied Knin that the
next meeting with rebel Serb representatives would take place on
Tuesday, Nov 15, at Zagreb airport.
In the meantime, expert groups will hold meetings in Split and
occupied Erdut (UNPA East).
They will try to "define the problems with the electric power
system, the oil pipeline etc," Sarinic told Croatian TV at Split
airport.
Sarinic said the eight-hour talks identified many more
controversies than issues on which agreement was likely.
"I'm afraid that the November 15 meeting will be a last-ditch
meeting," Sarinic said.
Upon their return from Knin, the co-chairmen of the Peace
Conference on Former Yugoslavia, Owen and Stoltenberg, stayed
closeted with US Ambassador Galbraith at Split airport for an hour.
Owen and Stoltenberg declined to talk to reporters, while
Galbraith announced a press conference at the Split Hotel tonight.
