MOSTAR, Sep 15 (Hina) - EU Mostar Administrator, Hans Koschnik,
said he was satisfied with the meeting in Zagreb between the
Croatian, Bosnian and the Croat-Bosniac Federation's leaderships.
At a press conference in Mostar today, Koschnik said the
Croatian and Bosniac parties supported his role in Mostar.
He denied that his mission there was in a crisis.
European Union foreign ministers have been monitoring the
situation in Mostar.
Koschnik announced that an EU Presidency delegation from
Brussells was expected to arrive in Mostar tomorrow.
Koschnik said that a bridge which would be built in the Potoci
section, where Croats live on both banks of the Neretva River, was
likely to be completed by the end of the year.
Koschnik said the bridge would help to calm down the city's
'atmosphere'.
Croatians in Mostar were unhappy with the recently opened
bridge in Mostar which links Moslems in one part of the city to
Moslems in another part.
Meanwhile, the head of the EU police in Mostar, Jan Mayvogel,
has described Mostar as 'highly abnormal'.
"We will try to establish international police standards," he
said.
Asked about the recent rocket assassination attempt on Hans
Koschnik, Mayvogel would only say that an investigation was in
progress.
Asked about the proposed unifying of police from east and west
Mostar, Mayvogel said that "the cruel things which had happened in
Mostar" would surely influence the unification.
Mayvogel also said the Ero Hotel, where Hans Koschnik and his
administration was accommodated, would be secured by 'mixed' police
teams drawn from the EU and police from east and west Mostar.
