ZADAR, Aug 15 (Hina) - The command of the U.N. Protection Force
(UNPROFOR) in Sector South expresses its dissatisfaction with the
fact that displaced persons are continuing blockades at the
official crossings into U.N. Sector South. Despite the latest
presidential statement adopted by the U.N. Security Council (UNSC)
the Croatian displaced persons are still blocking most of these
checkpoints, what is impermissible, underlines a statement issued
by the information office of UNPROFOR Sector South.
According to the statement, only one official checkpoint out
of six defined by the agreement, is opened for UNPROFOR. The four
entry points are being blocked by the displaced persons in the
presence of the Croatian police. Besides, the checkpoint at Otocac
is opened exclusively for the U.N. military observers, and not for
other UNPROFOR staff.
The command of the UNPROFOR Sector South cannot be satisfied
with this situation, according to its statement.
