ZAGREB, Aug 4 (Hina) - The prosecutor for the Bihac district
(western Bosnia) "institutes criminal proceedings on 3 August
against Fikret Abdic from Velika Kladusa who is under suspicion of
having committed a war crime against civilians and war prisoners
and having destroyed cultural and historical heritage," Bosnian-
Herzegovinian Embassy in Zagreb stated last night relying this on
Wednesday's statement of the Bihac district prosecutor's office.
According to the charges against Abdic, he was indicted for
violation of international law while being the president and the
chief commander of the self-proclaimed Autonomous Province of West
Bosnia (which was declared unconstitutionally on 27 September 1993
in the town of Velika Kladusa). Abdic ordered to attack civilian
population and to treat war prisoners inhumanly and to devastate
cultural and historical heritage, reads among other things a public
statement, signed by the Bihac district prosecutor, Rasema
