LJUBLJANA, July 8 (Hina) - Delegations of the Slovene and Croatian
transport ministries, headed by ministers Igor Umek and Ivica
Mudrinic respectively, met in Ljubljana on Thursday to exchange
views on the building of road and railway infrastructure in both
countries.
Croatian representatives presented proposals for the
construction of the Pirna Motorway from Sentilj to Zagreb which
would provide the shortest land route between Croatia and Western
Europe.
Following the closed-door meeting, Mudrinic told Slovene
Television that the talks focused on technical cooperation at the
level of experts and that the resolution of the border issue in the
Bay of Piran was not on the agenda.
Umek said that the strategy of road infrastructure, approved
by the Slovene Parliament, gave priority to the construction of
roads that would link Slovenia's east and west.
