BOSNIAN FEDERATION OFFICIALS MEET U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE

GENEVA, July 5 (Hina) - A delegation of the Moslem-Croat federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, involving President Kresimir Zubak, Vice- President Ejup Ganic and Premier Haris Silajdzic, met for talks with US Secretary of State Warren Christopher in the UN diplomatic mission in Geneva on Tuesday. The talks focused on the implementation of the Washington agreement and further steps towards a peaceful solution to the crisis in Bosnia-Herzegovina. At the same time, the international contact group continued talks on the territorial and political organization of Bosnia- Herzegovina. Senior foreign ministry officials of Britain, France, Germany, Russia and the United States are drafting a proposal for the division of Bosnia-Herzegovina, with 51 percent of territory going to the Federation and the rest to the Bosnian Serbs. This proposal is expected to be approved by foreign ministers Douglas Hurd, Alain Juppe, Klaus Kinkel, Andrei Kozyrev and Warren Christopher at a meeting scheduled to take place at the Russian embassy in Geneva at 3 p.m. today. The contact group's proposal has been announced as an ultimatum and there have been talks of sanctions against a party which rejects it. However, views of the big powers appear to lack coordination and firmness so that it is likely that the Bosnian factions will be given time to consider the proposal with the possibility of further discussions. An agremeent on the transitional administration of the European Union over Mostar is expected to be signed later in the day. The signing ceremony will be attended by the foreign ministers of the European troika (Germany, France and Greece), President of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina Alija Izetbegovic, President of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovian Kresimir Zubak, the mayors of eastern and western Mostar and EU administrator Hans Koschnik. 051542 MET jul 94
